Test run after 10 yrs

Well everyone, spring is here!!!!!!!!
Lots of good things going on this yr and lots of events!!  Over the winter,  I was able to do some work on some of the display boards.  Though they did not get used last year,  I should have them loaded in the trailer for this years events.   Also over the winter I was able to create this web site.  I hope every one enjoys it and lists it into their favorites so you can come back often for the updates.

So now that the warmer weather is here, I have begun the new year by running our M37 for the 1st time in 10 yrs.  Over the winter I went to work on it when I could, mostly getting it ready for the cab installation.  I wanted to make sure that we still had no problems with the engine so I test ran it just to make sure.  The only problem was a last minute carb change and we got great oil pressure and a beautiful running Dodge flat head six.

Also since the warm up,  I started working on the deuce collection.  I did a quick test drive of the M35A2C and everything went ok with that one.  I then set my efforts on running the 3rd deuce.  I completed some last odds and ends items that I had from painting last fall.  I still have a couple of things to finnish when I recieve the parts.
I did a well needed oil change,  the oil in it being at least 3 yrs old, if not almost 4.  I had not driven the truck since I brought it home in the fall of 04 so I was hoping for a good run like I did back then.
I kept this one close to home for more than just maint reasons!!  So on my 1st run, she was a bit doggy.  Had a hard time getting up over 40 mph.   I did a quick stop to check things under the hood and found that the radiator cap had been leaking.  So I headed back to the house,  once I got there (about 2 mi) the leak had stopped.  So feeling a bit better, I headed back out.  As I was comming up throught the gears, something let go and she took off running!!!!  Guess some of the cob webs let go cause she was flying.   For a non-turbo engine,  I was headed down my road at 55mph!  So I went 7 miles away and turned around and headed back.  I arrived at the house with my wife sitting on the front porch shaking her head.  She said that I had a smile from ear to ear.
Winters are long up here so when I get in a truck, for the 1st few times I get a little excited.    Aww, who am I trying to kid, every time I get excited.

Getting ready for paint.

Also progress is being made on the M52A2.  I have started stripping off some of the parts that I can do without help.  I also did some sanding of the sheetmetal.   Lots of desert tan underneath the CARC paint.  So this gives us more reason to believe that I have a Desert Storm Veteran.  But who knows, cause underneath that tan is a beautiful semi- gloss OD.
